I do portraits for married couples and
lots of times they want portraits because
whoever they had as their wedding photographer
messed up big time.
And these couples tell me about it.
It’s like hearing true wedding confessions.
“There’s nothing special about our wedding pictures”
“the pictures our photographer took were
everything but professional. I’m so upset.”
“Our wedding photos were a disaster.”
Makes me sad.
Probably makes you wonder:
Why would they hire those
sucky photographers in
the first place?
That’s exactly what I ask them.
It’s four or five of the same reasons
they always tell me but it boils down to this:
They choose their photographers using
the wrong reasons.
I recommend the number one most important reason
for choosing who’ll be your photographer is
they have a portfolio that blows you away.
Not just “they’re okay” not just “good enough”
certainly not ever “maybe they’ll come out just fine”
but “oh my gawd these shots are Ah-maz-ing!!!”
That’s it. Pure and simple. Here’s why:
Nothing else matters because after your
wedding, your photographer’s ability to
blow you away with the photos they took
is the ONLY thing you’ll care about.
