Harriman New York Wedding Photographers | and a Bashful Junior BridesmaidReviewed by G.E. Masana on Jun 6Rating:
Photographing flower girls and junior bridesmaids at weddings is a bit different than photographing adults. Almost. Both are prone to onlookers tossing them instructions to look at the camera and smile. But that almost never looks as good or real to me as when they’re “camera unaware.”
Yet children either are playful to the camera or shy away from strangers with cameras… this junior bridesmaid spotted me pointing my lens at her and backed away slightly, wrapping herself in her cloak for some extra protection from the lens. But when she backed away the light hit her just so and the whole mood and dimension of the image transformed into this image reminiscent of Neoclassical aesthetics.
While she wasn’t totally unaware, it did capture her mood and create an image I’ve never seen from a wedding before – or after.
