“Documentary photographer G.E. Masana uses his artist’s eye to capture the emotion of unscripted moments

about you
Because you don’t feel your wedding’s about poses with a mustache on a stick. Or jumping in the street. And about doing “shtick” for the camera.
You love your family very much. Your friends are dear to you. And you see your wedding as an intimate celebration of your love. And that’s what you feel your wedding’s about.
And now you’re seeking a photographer who shares your vision but the more you look, the more they all seem the same. Because they’re all taking the same stock shots, not looking so hot and they all have the same routine ideas about your wedding.
But photography’s important to you. Because you know there’s a difference between images that look like snapshots, and those which reach magazine quality. You know there’s a difference between getting a moment and capturing the right moments. You know there’s a difference between taking pictures, and telling stories in images.
If you’re like me you feel photography’s an art. And these images are your personal history. These are your memories. And so if there’s one thing about your wedding that matters more than just about anything else, you’d say it’s your photographs.
about me
I was a graphic illustrator in NYC when one day I picked up a camera and photographed a wedding. I’m probably the only NYC wedding photographer with that kind of an art background.
When I showed the images to my first couple, their faces literally glowed. And I was hooked. I put down my artist’s brush and now use the camera instead.
I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings. Among those couples have been ELLE magazine’s beauty editor, an executive at SEPHORA, a fashion designer for RALPH LAUREN, the son of an AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE, two daughters of a LEGENDARY SINGER-SONGWRITER, son of the CHAIRMAN EMERITUS of PFIZER, various models, actors, directors, CEOs, doctors, graphic artists, interior designers, photographers, art directors, cinematographers, even a NYC art gallery proprietor. I’ve been interviewed by the trade, quoted by the press, published in magazines and have won awards. I blog about weddings on HUFFINGTON POST and was also on the “Contributing Photographer” list for MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS.
And the common reason all these people commissioned me as their wedding photographer, they’d be happy to tell you, was because they were looking for distinctive photography with emotion and passion.
about you and me
When I photograph your wedding, it’s not like I’m there to “take pictures”… it’s more like I feel I’m at my own family’s wedding. That this is MY sister’s wedding. Or my brother’s. And so the photos I seek out are the unscripted moments which touch my heart. Or make me smile. Or laugh. Or bring a tear. They’re the photos that matter the most to my family. Then I also devote a time to artistic portraits and family groupings. Here’s the formula: Pour my soul into crafting these images, serve up a distinctive heirloom. Savor, delight in and treasure.
Because if you’re anything like my other wedding clients, you will.

What an incredible job you did.
Your photos truly are art work and we feel so incredibly blessed to have our happiest moments captured as beautifully as we remember them.
Your modern, yet classic candid style was exactly what we were hoping for, and we know that is so difficult to find.
We were so thrilled to have found you.”
