One of the things I’ve discovered about love in my journeys as a historian and documentarian of people in love, is:
Love Comes In Degrees
Not everyone in love loves equally.
Some love more. Some love less.
When it’s more, it can reach a boiling point where passion for their partner is as hot as it can be.
But not everyone has that depth, that degree of passion.
This couple did.
It so shows in the portraits I created of them.
Why? Because. I have people get into their emotions.
They feel it. They live their love in front of my camera.
In my portraits you see the passion they feel in their souls.
My couples have this profound love for each other.
That’s what I’m photographing for them.
Their intense love.
Other photographers photograph couples looking at the camera, smiling. Jumping in the air. Holding their rings out to the camera. Whatever.
They make them do stupid stuff for the camera. And those couples accept it a depiction of themselves.
What a joke. I’m sorry. I say they’re wrong.
You have two people with deep feelings for each other. They’re embarking hand in hand on a journey though life. There’s a story there.
And you settle for a photograph of them doing something trivial and made up for the camera?
You think that’s their story?
Look. These portraits below. These are real.
If being genuine is what you’re about, if capturing how you feel right now is what matters… call me. Here’s my number. 646 543-1321.
Wouldn’t you love to have artful portraits depicting your love?
