It was a respite from their busy lives, the church choir in NYC. He, a resident neurologist; she, a management consultant. That’s how they met. Singing in the choir as they did was a comfort. A relaxed environment away from the daily stresses and fast pace of their careers.
Slowly, somewhere, in those precious moments together, they fell in love.
But then she was called to go to the Amazon in Peru. Where she was a while until he called. He said, “come home.”
He meant “home” in every bit of its truest sense. “Live with me,” he continued. “My intention is to marry you.”
She hung up the phone. And came home.
Treasure the flame of your love. Savor this moment in time. For it can never be repeated. It is the youth of your life together.
