Not all NYC wedding couples get married in New York City. This wedding couple, Rachelle, an Economic Development Specialist in NYC, and the groom, Diego, a NYC Neurologist and Fellow in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Mayo Clinic, met while singing in a NYC church choir.
So you’d think theirs would be a NYC wedding story. Ah, but her career had her going next far, far away to the Peruvian Amazon.
So she asked Diego if he’d help her brush up on her Spanish. And those times spent together turned into dates. And those dates turned into love.
They spoke every night while they were separated.
And one night, Diego asked her to come back to New York City. And said it was because he wanted to marry her.
Rachelle’s love for Diego was great. So she returned. I had the pleasure of photographing them in their apartment here in New York City for a Betrothed Engagement Session and there was no denying the chemistry they have. It jumps off the images.
(Diego later said that while I was photographing them at their Engagement Photo Session he was concentrating on how much he loves her.)
So when they asked me to go near D.C. to photograph their wedding (where Rachelle’s family was located)– well, I would’ve come back from the Peruvian Amazon too. Let alone NYC.
