NYC Engagement Photo | Bryant ParkReviewed by G.E. Masana on Jan 1Rating:
I wanted to make this blog post just so I could post this engagement photo I made at Bryant Park around Christmastime. Because they had this huge blue tree and it looks so good as a backdrop.
This is Cate and Matt. Cate works at the Knot. And there’s a reason they wanted their engagement photos in Bryant Park.
Turns out you can sponsor a chair in Bryant Park. For the donation, they’ll place a small plaque on a chair, etched with what you ask them to etch into it. And in this case, he had them etch his proposal, “will you marry me?” their names and the date he would propose.
He took her that day to the park and went just a little crazy hunting down the chair. That must’ve been like a scene out of a romantic comedy (“No honey, don’t sit on that chair. You’ll be more comfortable maybe on this one [pulls out chair from under old lady]. Ummm, no. Not that one either. This one! This one here!”)
Got her on the right chair. Got on bended knee. Proposed, and she said yes.
You don’t sponsor a chair in Bryant Park with your proposal etched on it unless you know she’s going to say yes.
And that’s the backstory of this NYC engagement photo.
