Another NYC Artist Turned Wedding Professional | Meet Lela Cerff-Liso of Lela New YorkReviewed by G.E. Masana on Jul 20Rating:
Apparently I’m not the only person in NYC ever to go to art school, work commercially as an artist… and then somehow end up in the wedding industry.
There’s two of us!
Lela attained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design, NYC, and was working in fashion and advertising when a friend asked her to custom design her wedding invitation.
And what Lela created was unlike anything that existed in the wedding stationery industry.
It created a little buzz in that circle of friends.
Suddenly, more and more friends were asking her to create couture invitations.
And that’s how Lela Cerff-Liso became Lela New York.
But that’s not the entire story…
Because Lela started a blog.
At first she wrote of all things high-end luxury invitation and social stationery design.
But beyond writing on design expertise, she was also interested in delving into other wedding related topics. So she blogged about wedding trends. Wedding fashion. Fun ideas. Wedding insights. Real weddings.
Before long, her studio was winning awards. She got featured in nationally published wedding magazines such as BRIDES, Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style, Inside Weddings… even Ralph Lauren magazine!
Her wedding clientele went international. She was getting asked to cover Bridal Fashion week by major bridal gown designers.
And her blog, lelanewyork.blogspot.com, became Google’s number one rated wedding blog in NYC for New York brides and trendy ladies everywhere.
