Photographing a wedding here in New York City which started with the bride getting dressed at the Essex House on Central Park South.
On a wedding day, the hotel room, typically cluttered with bags and clothes and piles of paraphernalia as everyone’s busy getting ready, doesn’t lend itself to visually appealing imagery.
I tend to convey more of a portrait quality to any candid, unscripted moments I observe. I think they’re prettier to look at. They also capture the mood and the relationships between people.
And for some quirky reason, I also love the way other buildings photograph through NYC windows.
