How To Make Your Wedding Timeless But Modern. A Wedding Tip from David Tutera, Celebrity Wedding PlannerReviewed by G.E. Masana on Nov 22Rating:
A couple of months ago the Knot came out with its “top 12 trends for weddings” and announced the end of this and that trend, and hailed the new trends of the year.
And I thought, “yes… until next year when you declare those new trends old, overdone and finished. Just as you did right now with last year’s trends.”
I tell my couples, trends get dated. Fast. Better to have style and substance instead.
And here’s David Tutera, famed wedding planner, advising the same:
How do you make your wedding timeless while still staying current?
The first way to keep it timeless is to avoid having a theme for your wedding. I know it makes for great TV on My Fair Wedding, but you are better off picking a style. Second, avoid the latest trends. A style will be lasting and trends tend to show up more dated when you look back. Also, keep your colors a little bit more on the classic side like ivory, cream or blush.
