How To Choose A Wedding Photographer? Here’s a rare opportunity to see how huge the difference between two photographers can be. This is one couple, but they had two weddings to accommodate their respective families. Each with a different wedding photographer. They couldn’t fly the first photographer to the second wedding so they hired another photographer to take care of that.
I’ve obtained some photos of this couple by both wedding photographers. The bride provided what she chose as the best of both photographers. What I’ve done here is line up the first photographer’s wedding photos (“A”) alongside the second photographer’s wedding photos (“B”), matching the category of photos with each other. That is, I placed a bride and groom wedding portrait from Photographer A next to the Photographer B’s bride and groom wedding portrait; a family group shot from the first photographer alongside a family picture from the second photographer; ceremony shot paired with ceremony shot; and so on. This way you can easily see how each photographer used their eye, their skill, their style, their taste, their talent, their expertise – and see what kind of difference this makes.
Because when choosing a wedding photographer, sometimes couples put too much weight on the wrong factors. They may emphasize using their wedding venue’s recommended vendor. They may emphasis using someone closer to home. Maybe they want someone more familiar with their culture and customs. Perhaps they emphasis cost. Whatever the factors, the most important ones are the ones which impact the final result: the wedding photos themselves. Why? Because it’s the wedding photography which is what the bridal couple ends up with no matter who recommended them; no matter where the wedding photographer is located; no matter what was spent on wedding photography. Fact is, every time the wedding couple looks at their wedding photos any time throughout the rest of their entire lives, they’ll either be pleased with the choice they made or not happy at all – and whether they’re thrilled or dissatisfied is going to depend not on any of the above mentioned factors but on one factor alone: how great the wedding photos are.
And that’s why you should choose a wedding photographer based on merit. All the other factors don’t matter anymore after you have your wedding photos.
You don’t often get to see how two different wedding photographers would photograph the same wedding couple. It would be pretty cool if you could do this when choosing your wedding photographer, wouldn’t it? So check it out for yourself. Here’s Photographer “A” and Photographer “B” for your consideration:
