As a New York photographer at a New York City wedding you can’t be too surprised when a face you find at a wedding seems familiar. At a celebrity wedding, of course you already know the celebrity whose wedding you’re photographing. But when a celebrity is a guest at someone else’s wedding, that’s rather cool to encounter because it’s unexpected. Daniel Dae Kim, for example, start of TV’s Hawaii Five-O, Lost and a slew of movies, was that kind of guest as a wedding I photographed for a director and his wife, an actress, in new york city. Rounding a corner as I was scouting for moments to document, I spied him in a corner. Very gracious he was. A pleasure to photograph too. Speaking of that’s him in the corner…
Another wedding at Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City’s lower east side – all of a sudden it’s Michael Stipe in my viewfinder, who you know is the lead singer for R.E.M. In the wedding photo you’re seeing him just as he notices me. He starts hamming around for the camera – too fun! As I later get images on the dance floor, it’s John Leguizamo making some moves. The guy can dance, let me tell ya. And It’s like I’m in a movie.
And Mario Batali. One of my favorite chefs. Before you ask, the answer is yes, even at the wedding he wears his signature shorts and orange Croks.
Now you know.
Of course, they’re just people enjoying a good time. I love New York City. It’s my home town. I’m happy to share this with you and for the moment being that celebrity photographer at a New York City wedding.
Of course, at any wedding, the real “celebrities” are the bride and groom. And their love for each other.
I can be your celebrity photographer. Contact me for information. I’ll make ya look like a star…
