Wedding blog Manolo For The Brides recently opined, “there’s a scourge of headless brides, grooms, bridesmaids, and groomsmen on the loose…I’m not sure why.”
Neither am I but I have a hunch.
Maybe what was an original thought from one photographer got copied repeatedly by a zillion other unoriginal photographers. Yet they’d better be quick about it because as Wedinator website points out, “headless pictures are SO 2010” (wedinator.icanhascheezburger.com/2010/12/31/funny-wedding-photos-headless-groomsmen)
And this is why it’s so important I’m posting about it:
When your children want to know more about mommy and daddy’s history some day and you bring out your wedding album pulling back the curtain of time to share your visual history with them, is this really the story about you that you want to pass down?
There’s more to you than a bunch of uninspired copy-cat photos! Me, I wouldn’t spend a dollar on them.
Instead of gimmicky pictures they’ll point to as being outdated and looking silly (it’s not much past 2010 and look – already those shots are being mocked), how about giving your children, and their children, visual stories which show how mommy and daddy love each other?
Isn’t that what you’d really rather have your legacy be?
